Children of Domestic Homicide

Research conducted by University of Melbourne, indicates that children of domestic homicide victims suffer from severe trauma that can have long-lasting effects.

Unfortunately, there are few support services available to help them cope with their grief and navigate through this difficult time. There are even less services available who have the expertise in this very specialist area.

In many cases, these children have to navigate a very adult-centric system, leaving them to deal with their emotions on their own after a parent is killed by their former or current partner. These children have a right to be heard.

If you are the child victim of domestic homicide and want to get in touch with your peers, you can reach out here

All persons adversely affected by crime are to be treated with courtesy, respect and dignity by investigatory agencies, prosecuting agencies and victims' service agencies.
